    i agree
post hardcore was a cool genre
at least until bands like bring me the horizon
    and parkway drive came along.

  7. rockatolla72 Says:

    how come you didn’t …
how come you didn’t mention blink 182 or fallout boy???? just kidding. i think you covered this era really well, seeing blaine from the z would have been cool, but you got duff. thanks, it was great seeing all that footage.

this the book is way better and where was JFA?? and the big boys? they like showed one song they forgot to mention agression too!!! DOUCHEBAGS!

  9. catsboyscandy Says:

    They should just …
They should just make an entire new film for post-hardcore. I think that really they were just focusing mainly around ‘79-85ish and the whole “first-wave-of” thing. They probably figured it’s too early to be “romanticizing” the late 80s and 90s, even though that’s what I want to see and what kids need to know about.

  10. xAxiom720x Says:

no no. it wasnt in …
no no. it wasnt in the documentary because the kennedys were going through serious legal bullshit.
as for the misfits, i have no idea

“The Misfits and the Dead Kennedys aren’t Hardcore.
They are punk. They are really good punk, but not hardcore.
Both bands were too mainstream to ever be considered part of the hardcore movement.”

Mainstream? Misfits weren’t Hardcore, yes, but the Kennedys? Ever listened to “In God We Trust…”?

  16. ManilaSyndicate Says:

Good doc, fast and intense like the music. Too bad the Dead Kennedys and Fear were not included, especially the former. Thanks for uploading the entire film, HJF.

  19. GrandRapidsSkateRats Says:

    The misfits and DK …
The misfits and DK are super slow compared to hardcore. They are punk. Punk is not equal to Hardcore. Go to a punk show and go to a Hardcore show its a different experience.

  20. headtrips1 Says:

  24. FascistFashion Says:

    I wonder why the …
I wonder why the movie didn’t take any time to cover the Post-hardcore movement. O, DC ‘85 Revolution Summer, Embrace, Rites of Spring, Hoover…Fugazi of course..Other stuff going on like Moss Icon, Indian Summer, later in the 90’s Chaotic hardcore like Swing Kids and Honeywell, Portraits of Past (epic music)and the really cool recent bands like City of Caterpillar, or pg.99. Jesus, there’s some hardcore going on that is really INNOVATIVE, but nowhere in this film.
