This 1977 performance from New York’s legendary CBGB’s proves why The Dead Boys were the epitome of snotty punk rock. Characterized by Stiv Bator’s audience provoking on-stage antics, along with the band’s aggressive power chord punch, the Dead Boys have earned their title as one of the greatest and most influential punk bands in history. Track list: Sonic Reducer, All This and More, Not Anymore, Revenge, Flame Thrower Love, I Need Lunch, Ain’t Nothin’ to Do, What Love Is, High Tension Wire, Search & Destroy. Special features include great interviews of the band from 1977.

Reel Big Fish is an American ska punk band from Huntington Beach, California, best known for the 1997 hit “Sell Out.” The band gained mainstream recognition in the mid-to-late 1990s, during the third wave of ska with the release of the album Turn the Radio Off. Since the band’s founding in 1992 and their demo In the Good Old Days…, the only original member remaining is Aaron Barrett.

Early

The band’s debut album, Everything Sucks, was an underground hit and led to a deal with Mojo Records. The album Turn the Radio Off established the band in the ska punk scene, and they began touring throughout the United States. After the single “Sell Out” began breaking into the mainstream, including MTV, the album made an appearance on the charts. However, the ska revival was short-lived, and their 1998 album Why Do They Rock So Hard? did not lead the band into the mainstream. In 1998, the band appeared in the movie BASEketball, performing in the stands to pump up the crowd. Why Do They Rock So Hard? was the last album for three members of the band. Trombonist Grant Barry and trumpet player Tavis Werts were either fired or left the band voluntarily, depending on the source. Drummer Andrew Gonzales left the band to spend more time with his family. Reel Big Fish then had a rotating cast of drummers and trumpeters over the next six years.

“The Untouchables” are a Soul-Mod-Ska revival band from the greater Los Angeles area. They formed in 1981 after being inspired by the Ska-Punk band “The Boxboys”. The band toured extensively throughout the 80’s with acts such as Bow Wow Wow, Fishbone, Red Hot Chili Peppers, X and many others. The band has gone thru many lineup changes, as of 2006, only vocalist Jerry Miller remains from the original lineup. Here we have a Live performance of “What’s Gone Wrong” from Daytona Beach Florida in 1986. Great song, great band! Enjoy, Placebo.

Rollins Band was an American rock group led by singer and songwriter Henry Rollins.

They are best-known for the songs “Low Self Opinion” and “Liar”, which both earned heavy airplay on MTV in the early 1990s. Critic Steve Huey describes their music as “uncompromising, intense, cathartic fusions of hard rock, funk, post-punk noise, and jazz experimentalism, with Rollins shouting angry, biting self-examinations and accusations over the grind.”

We crowded up to the stage at the Riverside Bar in Chiang Mai with our glasses of Thai whiskey to enjoy this group of young musicians who were rocking out and having a great time. The music was loud, fast, hard, and good. When they hit the FF anthem song in this video the whole house, us included, started to jump and I didn’t know how it would end up, maybe the Bar would fall into the river, maybe just a huge mosh pit, I didn’t care; we were loving it.

We didn’t catch the name of this band, or get a recording (this music is FF) but we got a few shots on the samsung phone.

Hope you get a feeling for what it was like.
