Shot in December 2006, this documentary sought to discover where Mr. Butch (self-proclaimed king of Allston and king of men) sleeps — and who he sleeps with.

RIP Butch
? - 7/12/07
My only regret is not going out and filming with him more. We were actually supposed to make a movie about him purchasing the Vespa that delivered him from this Earth.

Van Halen’s Atomic Punk - The Lesson!!:

This video will provide you with complete step by step instructions on how to play the solo in Atomic Punk. Eddie plays in E minor (E blues) and uses the 1974 Phase 90 during the entire solo. There are some fun runs in this song along with the palm scratching. Don’t get discouraged if it doesn’t click right away. As long as you understand the concepts, you’re fine

If you’re copying Ed, then your tone is very important. I’m using my old 100watt, JCM800 Marshall head with a single 4 speaker celestion cabinet with the back off of it so the sound comes out the back of the cab as well. The head has old GE 6550s for the power tubes, a double slap back Boss delay (Eddie uses a single slap back delay) and a 500ms reverb (Microverb and my best guess). It’s cheap stuff but it’s the tube amp that gives me the sound.

***** For this solo I added Dunlop’s MXR Phase 90, the one with the script writing, not the block lettering. The script one is more closely related to the 1974 box that Ed used on the first album.

This video was shot in high def, 1920×1080i, and it looks unbelievable. YouTube will allow me to upload HD at 1280 by 720, the there is a little loss in the quality.

I hope you have fun with this.

Yo!

Reel Big Fish is an American ska punk band from Huntington Beach, California, best known for the 1997 hit “Sell Out.” The band gained mainstream recognition in the mid-to-late 1990s, during the third wave of ska with the release of the album Turn the Radio Off. Since the band’s founding in 1992 and their demo In the Good Old Days…, the only original member remaining is Aaron Barrett.

Early

The band’s debut album, Everything Sucks, was an underground hit and led to a deal with Mojo Records. The album Turn the Radio Off established the band in the ska punk scene, and they began touring throughout the United States. After the single “Sell Out” began breaking into the mainstream, including MTV, the album made an appearance on the charts. However, the ska revival was short-lived, and their 1998 album Why Do They Rock So Hard? did not lead the band into the mainstream. In 1998, the band appeared in the movie BASEketball, performing in the stands to pump up the crowd. Why Do They Rock So Hard? was the last album for three members of the band. Trombonist Grant Barry and trumpet player Tavis Werts were either fired or left the band voluntarily, depending on the source. Drummer Andrew Gonzales left the band to spend more time with his family. Reel Big Fish then had a rotating cast of drummers and trumpeters over the next six years.

It also includes various interviews and behind-the-scenes footage with the bands, labels and fans.

“The Untouchables” are a Soul-Mod-Ska revival band from the greater Los Angeles area. They formed in 1981 after being inspired by the Ska-Punk band “The Boxboys”. The band toured extensively throughout the 80’s with acts such as Bow Wow Wow, Fishbone, Red Hot Chili Peppers, X and many others. The band has gone thru many lineup changes, as of 2006, only vocalist Jerry Miller remains from the original lineup. Here we have a Live performance of “What’s Gone Wrong” from Daytona Beach Florida in 1986. Great song, great band! Enjoy, Placebo.
